We start by researching the type, size and name of departments at each site. Within these departments we identify the functions undertaken, such as engineering design, R&D, assembly, component manufacture, maintenance, purchasing, IT etc.

By understanding how every site is organized, we can select sites by their capacity rather than simply by their size. Firstly, we research the names, job function(s), reporting line and job titles of the management chain in each of the key engineering departments of - Production, Engineering Design, Electronics Design, IT, Factory Service/Operations and Purchasing. Secondly, we identify the number of specialist engineers in each separate department, giving us a key indicator of their purchasing capacity and you the ability to isolate sites and people with the largest spending potential.
